The fieldhouse vibrated with excitement on this cold January day. Lots of athletes were wearing maroon and gold for their first official competition. Lots of fans, friends and family to cheer them on. It was, well, simply....FABULOUS.

So now the first meet of the 2011 season is behind us. It was a pretty small field of competitors in some events, but that did not diminish the fun. And, there were some great performances like the opening of the pole vault season! I was particularly happy to see Alicia Rue in the competition.
You will see a slight change in the photos for this year. We will continue to emphasize our Gopher athletes - both current and alumni. But, I may add a few other athletes as well. They may be Master's athletes that I have had the chance to get to know over the last several years. Or, they may be athletes from other schools where I just like the shots.
