Gopher Track and Field & Cross Country Photos
|
My name is Becky Miller and this is the 7th year for this website. I intend to keep it up as long as I can, but as in the past I am begging for other photographers to contribute shots. You can send them to me at gophertrackshots@hotmail.com, you can mail me a disk, you can bring me a disk at a later meet or if you find me at the end of a meet, you can quick give me your memory card, I will copy it and give it back to you. You can see I am trying to be very helpful in collecting this information to encourage you to make this a community page.
I tried to update the look a bit this year, so let me know what you think. The system that it is on still does not seem to let me expand the content to the far right margin. But it does seem brighter. I seem to be taking a LOT of photos for each meet, so this year we will have tabs by meet, rather than by month.
Every year we have a lot of athletes who redshirt. That makes it hard for the photographers, as we may not know who you are. I have two requests of you. First, if you can figure out someway to designate that you are a U of M athlete in your attire (without breaking any NCAA rule, of course) that would really help. I know a lot of the athletes wear the maroon and gold wrist bands, for example. That would help. Last year a bunch of the redshirted women wore matching RED shirts. That helped a lot. Or, you could just come and introduce yourself! Equally important, please realize that the fieldhouse is hard to shoot in as it is pretty dark. Shooting sports photography requires that we rely on the automatic focusing as much as possible. That works best if you are wearing high contrast clothes. Those gray t-shirts drive my camera CRAZY. In comparison, it likes black and white, orange and black, neon green and black, etc. So, if you want good photos, wear high contrast.

REQUESTING COPIES
If you want a high resolution copy of a picture you see posted, send an e-mail to gophertrackshots@hotmail.com identifying the photo and we will get it back to you. To identify the photo, double click on the photo you want. Expand the screen to full size. Right click your mouse over the picture and select properties. The photo number with this show up in the file information. If you give me the date of the meet, it helps. That is how I have the pictures saved.
I won't send you high resolution copies of pictures that I receive from other contributors, unless they specifically tell me that I can share them with you.
And to make it clear, I do NOT charge for these photos. The only request that I make is that you do not sell them.
